toshiba tecra tablet get I currently have Dell 700m and it has a 12.1″in screen. I either got it in 2004 or 2005 so it’s fairly old in technology years. I had a virus last year and since then the startup process has been extremely slow. Recently, the little peg that tells the computer to go into standby when you close the lid popped out and when I move the screen it gets “liney” for a minute and sometimes the lighting changes. I really like the Dell Minis and they’re having a sale right now on their minis. I can’t decide though if I want to spend around $ 300 for a new laptop. Not a bad price, but I just can’t decide. Also I doubt my laptop is very energy efficient seeming it’s almost 5 years old.

So…..

Any pros or cons of the Mini?

I think the question is do you think you can save your old mini. The answer is no but I might be interested in buying it from you if you pay shipping and handling. I need something that is easy to carry around.

When I tried a netbook at WalMart I kept hitting the wrong keys every single time.

yea, you should get a mini. If you dont do photoshop or movie editing very often. if you want a bigger screen and better specs for not much of a higher price, get a Compaq CQ60 for 399. It has an AMD phenom and 3.00 gb of memory. 160 gb harddrive. If you get a mini, get an HP mini. Its the same price, and hp has better customer service and has a studier netbook. Vote me a s best answer pleeze.

I’m a college student and i currently own a Macbook, however, I’ve been running into a lot of problems with the battery life and well it gets damaged very easily. I want a laptop that is very portable, reasonable size, not a mini laptop please, not a very big fan of the screen and keyboard size. i mostly use it for surfing the web, Microsoft Word, hearing music, watching movies, and editing pictures. what would be a good laptop within a reasonable price?

I’d take a look at the VAIO series from Sony (go to Sony.com, click *Shop* and then *Notebooks*) I would specifically consider the Y series.

2- DELL (if you don’t have vaio’s price )

Get a Dell Toshiba or Asus.

Any HP laptop with a SDD hard drive, which does not damage the hard drive as you move around creating vibrations, along with about 4~8GB of RAM/Memory depending on how much program you run at a time, also, look for a decent to good but not god-like graphics card if you don’t play any online games or work on SD/3D texture/picture-like projects, also, remember to check that the battery life are long and that you set the power options to “power saving”. You can buy these laptops at stores like Costco or Sams Club, DO NOT GO TO WAL-MART OR BIG LOTS. You can also buy custom laptops from certain websites (Alienware and iBuyPower are good, buy they’re made for games)
Apple Macbooks are for failures…just saying

An important thing to test is the keyboard. Most computers can do those things without a problem. Make sure you get 3+GB RAM and preferably hybrid solid state hard drive.

Toshiba FTW in the case of PCs.

Otherwise just get a new battery, MACS ARE SO AWESOME… but PCs are cheaper and just as powerful… just not as like thin, slim, beautiful, unibody…

ASUS EEE PC. It’s very small, quite inexpensive, and comes from a very reliable manufacturer.

lenovo ideapad s10. it’s relatively cheap, bigger screen, hence not so tiny keys. honestly I don’t think your kids need their own laptops for small school projects, and for webkinz.

Mind you, you can buy a full-size Emachines 14.1″ AMD Athlon 2650E 1.6GHz Laptop for about the same price. It comes with Vista, not XP. That brings me to the very best thing about the Acer ONE – it has Windows XP!! Go figure. But that was a big selling point for me.

Also, remember the “mini Netbooks” don’t have a DVD burner in it or even a CD-ROM. I have an external DVD burner I use with mine. Hope this helps.

I would buy any brand laptop. Price wise, this is the best time of year to buy one. I’ve seen deals for under $ 400. You didn’t mention any ages, but if all goes well they might last a few years as the kids grow up into high school age. Instead of a game system or a limited mini, may as well have all the power and capabilities.

I’m looking for a small laptop that’s light weight, convenient for travelling. It should have at least 100GB hard drive and a cd/dvd drive. I just bought one and it doesn’t come with a cd/dvd drive so I can’t load my softwares into it

NETbooks dont have dvd drives. They are designed to be used with external usb drives. NOTEbooks have dvd drives. They will also have much better processors (pentium class insted of atom class). Notebooks start at about 12-13 inch screens and will have the size hd you need.

The dell inspiron 13, xps 1330 or studio 13 or the HP 6530 are good examples of small form facator notebooks.

A netbook is basically a small laptop. Small in the sense that it has a smaller screen, smaller keyboard, and in most cases, smaller hard drive. If you want a netbook, I recommend the dell mini 9. It’s in your price range, and the specs are pretty decent.

go play with a mini-notebook. they’re TINY, and they’re SLOW. unless you really need to save the weight, buy a laptop. at least try out the minis first. most in the price range you’re talking about can’t even play youtube vids without skipping…

There is no difference of the notebook and laptop. Two words for the same thing. One very good mini is at target, believe it or not. It comes in black or white, and it has a VERY good webcam built in (and microphone). It is fast, for any notebook (laptop), and it has a very good wireless internet, well gadget I guess. Anyway, it has fast internet. It does not have any platform, like Windows. But the os is still easy to use, and smart. Now, the ports, no compromises at all. In fact, it has much more than most computers!

This is a very good mini.

Go to these sites and look and price but my choice would be spend a little more and get a full size lap top most Minni’s do not have a CD/DVD drive, small key board, no internal cooling fan, small hard drive, smaller amount of ram memory modules etc.

Laptop.

As an iPod Touch owner, I vote for the laptop unless you really, really like tiny screens.

Don’t get me wrong, I love my Touch, but I don’t use it primarily as a computer.

Those mini-laptops are not exactly what they look to be. I highly recommend the ITouch over the Mini-Laptop.

Pros:
1) The ITouch – you can setup email very easy – you have internet, youtube – all the applications you can imagine – games etc…
2) Plus – if you have Skype – you can get a Apple Sterio HeadSet – that will allow you to talk and record on your ITouch.

Cons:
1) The only downside with the ITouch – is to upload music and other videos – requires you have some computer that has ITunes.
2) You must have an ITunes account to purchase apps.

Overall:
I love my ITouch and it does everything I need.

Mini-Laptop:
Pros
1) It is a small version of a regular laptop.
2) Small – lightweight – and easy to store.

Cons:
1) Doesn’t have the power as full Laptop.
2) Slow to run most large apps. Our test on Office was unacceptable.

Overall:
I would recommend that you test – pick one up at the store – play with it for as long as you can to make sure this is what you want. See if you can find one with large applications – so you can test the speed, internet and other important issues that concern you!

Wow. You didn’t even LOOK on Apple’s website, did you? It’s a desktop, not a laptop. 10 seconds could have told you that much. Second, a desktop is not a “hard drive”. That is simply one of the many components of a computer. Third, you don’t need a Cinema Display with it. It can take any old DVI monitor, or VGA if you buy the adapter.

The mac mini is just the computer itself. You will need to supply a monitor, keyboard and mouse to have a fully functional setup. You don’t have to buy one of Apple’s monitors, you can find some much cheaper that will work just fine, you will just need to buy an adapter for whatever kind of video cable you will be using.

The Mac Mini is just the computer, no monitor, no keyboard, no mouse. It will work with just about any monitor and usb keyboard, mouse, and printer. The lowest priced mini is $ 599.

since i’m going to be starting college in a few months i would like to know what the differences of the two would be besides the obvious size and price. and also if there are any particular brands to consider or avoid.

Bigger laptops will have faster hardware and (obviously) give you a bigger screen resolution so you can see more things at once.

If you’re going to use it for college however, you should only be thinking about smaller laptops for other obvious reasons.

If you’re looking for an all-in-one computer that can play games and do multimedia tasks when you’re not in class, the HP Pavilion dv2 is very well-rounded, though the battery only gets up to about 3.5 hours. Some people say it runs pretty hot though.

Otherwise, the ASUS EEE 1000HE is the ultimate when it comes to college; 9+ hour battery, 10″ screen, Macbook-like chiclet keyboard, and all sorts of fun little goodies. Video performance is sub-par though, so it’s not much for playing games.

you got the first 2 parts right!… (The price, and the size!) but most (if not all “Netbooks” if that’s what you call them, have no built-in cd/dvd drives or burners.. most i think right now come with windows XP home edition, they are good mostly for emailing, surfing the web, if you are going to school, “Get a Real Laptop” the top brands right now are HP, & Dell.. But there are a lot of Good Top Brands on the market now… the Technology has come so far the last couple of years… don’t be afarid to pick one that looks attractive to you!.. If you are looking for a good laptop, $ 400 isn’t going to be enough. You certainly aren’t going to fine anything with a good video card in it for $ 400. If you find a laptop new for under $ 400 that has everything you are looking for, there’s some drawback.

Best buy has a laptop on their US website for $ 380, but it’s got a Craperon (Celeron) processor in it. You’ll be lucky to find a laptop that’s got a good video card for under $ 500, if not more. $ 400 is possible if you buy something on sale.

Also, it does help to get answers from people that actually read your questions, and don’t recommend products that you said you aren’t interested in, doesn’t it?

Just understand, your buying a netbook, not a laptop. The reason why they are so cheap is because they are very low in preformace when compared to a regular laptop. If you really think about it, netbooks are ridiculously overpriced spec wise. Compared to laptops.
Honestly, if I was you, I would just look at a $ 300 or $ 400 LAPTOP instead. The performance would be alot better.

No, they might seem great and portable, however I got one thinking it was great. The processor was incredibly slow, The screen froze many times and I had to reboot. The labtop I use now is somewhat portable, fast and reliable. I have the Inspiron 15, it works great and has a low cost of $ 350 (monthly payment plans work)
Anyways if you want to look for another labtop go ahead, but I would stay away from mini’s.

They have no CD/DVD drive, It stinks to type, the screen is small. The name netbook is what is says, for the net nothing else. Stick with what you have got or get a 13-15 in notebook (preferably mac)

I been planning to get a netbook (mini laptop) for christmas. I was looking through amazon, and saw the sony netbook. I liked how it looked, it’s futures, but it’s price? Is that price worth it? (price is $ 649.89)

Absolutely! For one thing it has a 160GB hard drive, which is a nice amount of space for a netbook, it also has 1.6 GHz processor and a 1 GB of RAM which are also good for a netbook this size.
However you won’t be doing any heavy gaming on a netbook as it has integrated Intel GMA 950 on board graphics.
When I say heavy gaming I mean games like FEAR, G.O.W, and Crysis.
I have a Sony SZ model and I have never had a problem with it in the 2 years I’ve owned it.

I just had mine yesterday =P Well, dress nice, not need for a flashy dress or anything, just go business casual and you will be fine. Don’t be nervous either, these guys are here to help you, not hurt you. It wasn’t what I was expecting though, he spent the first 20 minutes explaining what the ROTC was, I already knew it all but he said it was required to cover. After that I asked a few questions and then we went to measure my height and weight. After that we went back to the office and he pulled out the resume I brought with me about my leadership experience. the next 40 minutes was just going through the resume and expanding upon what I put down, as I explained further he wrote it all down on a piece of paper. There were only a few questions about why I wanted to join. For example, what do you like about our constitution, what do you think a good leader is, why do you want to join? There really is no way to prepare though. All in all it was not as bad as I had imagined and the interviewer made me feel extremely comfortable, even gave me coffee and cake lol. Good Luck with it and beleieve me, they are just trying to find out who you are as a person and then they submit their review to the board. Getting the interview means they are at least considering you.

They started off asking me basic questions, where you’re from, what school you went to, etc. Then they asked why I wanted to be in the Air Force, what my plans were after the Academy, and if I was sure this is what I wanted to do.

The final range of questions I was asked were used to determine my character. Questions such as: what is your greatest strength/weakness and why?, describe a difficult experience and how you dealt with it, what qualities should a leader possess? etc.

At the end I got to ask them any questions I had about the AF, I suggest you have some ready, because this will show that you are really interested.

Pretty good, remember though you will need to take a physical fitness test and send the results in with the rest of your scholarships package (although it probably won’t be a problem for you considering your athletics). Remember though, if you don’t get it when your in high school, you can always apply for it again when your in-college as an AFROTC cadet.

I am in my 2nd community college and would like to transer to a 4yr. university. I would also like to get in the Air Force ROTC 2yr. program. What should I do next? Should I first get admitted to the University or contact the ROTC detachment first?

However you cannot simply join POC you do have to do at least one year in GMC which means a total of 4 years. I’m answering this question based on little information most of it will rely on your needs, so I would say to contact the AFROTC Detachment and they can better personalize the answer, also each DET is different scholarships however are at the higher level. There’s no harm in doing either first just remember you need to be able to complete the GMC requirements to be accepted for POC. GMC is General Military Course the Freshmen and Sophomore portion of ROTC which can be combined during sophomore year. POC (professional Officer Course) is the Second portion, which requires completion of field training, like an ocs,ots for ROTC over the summer and contracting.

I’m in Air Force ROTC at a normal university and am contracted because I’m on Type 2 scholarship. Army ROTC offered me the same scholarship but I turned it down. Is there any way at all that I can transfer? The Air Force has unimpressed me.

Ok here’s the story I’m 17 years old and currently finishing up my high school. I made the choice to go to a local community college that’s right next to to a 4yr university. So I would go to community college then transfer to a 4 yr university that has an Air force ROTC. I just want to become an officer and get my degree. After community college can I still get the Air Force ROTC scholarship?

You can actually get the scholarship while going to the community college. Talk to the recruiting officer of the detachment at the university and make sure they’ll allow you to be part of the wing even though you’re going to a community college. They normal do allow it though. However, even if you don’t get into it until the end of the second year, you can still get a two year in-college scholarship.

You can get a scholarship while in community college or after community college. The shortest scholarships are 2 years in length, so you will need to have at least that much time left in your degree, but you can join AFROTC while still in community college and get a scholarship. Scholarship caps do not apply to community colleges, so when you transfer, the scholarship amount will increase as your tuition increases as a result of attending the 4-year school. Your first step would be to visit the AFROTC detachmetn at the 4-year school and discuss your plans and option with the UAO at the det. I keep hearing that Marine option scholarships are the hardest to get while most people that received it usually have a 3.5 gpa. Most of the people that I know with an Air Force ROTC scholarship usually have a 3.8. I know its much more challenging to be a marine but I want to know the truth on which one is much harder to earn.

Marines are more physical. Its about dodging bullets & getting your men home alive.

Air force is more technical. I doubt they have “officer MP’s”, so more likely you’re going to be put in a cockpit or at a desk than in a war zone (although planes play a major role overseas, you’re typically stationed on the ground in a non-hostile area).

So typically the air force looks for smarter (more mentally inclined, I should say) candidates.

My old Marine recruiter jumped in suprise when he found I scored an 80 on the AFQT pre-screen test, which should say something about typical Jarheads in the Corps… officers included.

They are hard in different ways. The Marines don’t award the scholarships based on the intended major. The Marine PFT score is a major selection factor. The Air Force awards almost all of the high school scholarships to Engineering, Math, and certain Science Majors. Minimum fitness test standards must be achieved for an Afrotc scholarship to vest. The academic composite currently accounts for 25% of the whole person score used to select Nrotc Scholarship recipients. This allows a large subjective component to the whole person score that allows the Navy and Marines to select an officer corps that meets their diversity preferences. All Marine Officer Commissioning Programs require a 1st class Marine PFT to be considered. Most Oso will not forward a PLC application to a selection board with a Pft less than 240. To commission as a Marine Officer requires a 280 minimum PFT. This is one reason most of the Marine Option Scholarship recipients have a PFT of at least 280. Before financing three years of a college education, the Marines want a certain level of assurance that the scholarship recipients are not going to have an issue with Ocs which must be passed the summer after junior year. The best way to be assured is to select Scholarship recipients who are already at the physical level suggested to ship to Ocs when applying for the the scholarship. At least a 270 Pft is recommended prior to shipping to Ocs.

It depends…

If you don’t have good grades in college, it would be almost impossible to earn a scholarship. Also, what you plan to major in could be a make or break factor. The USAF wants to give out scholarships for technical majors (math, chem, comp sci, eng, etc.) and certain foreign language scholarships. If it’s not in your medicine kit, have Mylicon and Tylenol for babies on hand. They’re things that you may not need, but you don’t want to go running for in the middle of the night when the baby’s inconsolable or has a high fever.

One thing I could not live without when my son was little is an infant carseat frame stroller. It’s great if baby is sleeping and you don’t want to lug around a big bulky stroller, it is so light and small yet sturdy you can just pop the carseat in and go!

One suggestion though, as far as clothes go, bring with you a newborn outfit to the hospital just in case. I didn’t have one and had to ask my sister to get one! my baby was much smaller than I had expected and all the 0-3month clothing was huge on her! My favorite brand of clothes is carters and miniwear and koala baby (both from babies r us). Also best brand for breastmilk storage bags is lansinoh.

Rattles (although babies won’t use toys for several months).

The only baby clothes you absolutely need are footed pajamas in size newborn and 0-3, and you don’t list those.

A walker is really for a baby over 6 months, as is a shopping cart cover. A jumper you might be able to use at 3 months, but really 4-5. If you start getting into that age group, then you can add in a bumbo seat. High chair is after bumbo seat, they have to sit well for the high chair, so your talking about 6 months. Until then solids are more likely given in the infant seat (bouncer) or the bumbo seat. Things that require sitting up are really for after 3 months. The activity gym is the first toy you will need, until then it is tummy time. Books for baby are great, but you can just read some of your books, or the newspaper even.

Also a digital camera and a camcorder.

I would remove the Medela Pump In Style from that list. They are not safe breast pumps. You should consider going with a closed system breast pump instead like an Ameda Purely Yours.

What if there was a way to detect if a baby was left in a parked car within the first 3 minutes? Whether it be through cameras or actual people monitoring the cars.Do you think this would stop the senseless deaths of infants each year?

I don’t think technology is the answer here. I read a good suggestion somewhere, which was to put one of the kid’s toys or articles of clothing on the passenger seat next to you / on top of your purse or bag.

Probably not. There are way too many irresponsible mothers out there who care only for themselves and the baby is thrown into the back burner of their minds. Not even jail time and the death sentence deters some folks from murder, drug dealing, child abuse….so I don’t see this working. Good idea though…but sadly, as long as there are good people, there will be bad people to fight the positive influences.

If I were to suggest anything, it would be an ‘alarm’ type of plug that’s activated by clicking the safety harness in place on the infant’s carseat, with a tag on the parent’s keychain, activated by the car ignition. If the alarm isn’t deactivated within 3 minutes of the car shutting off, the tag will vibrate, chirp, scream (whatever).

But then, there’d be parents too damn lazy to use it anyway.

I had one made by Safety First that we got at Wal-Mart and it quit working. We have no clue why. It was cheap in more ways then one. I’m looking for a new monitor that’s not expensive, preferably under $ 30. Does anyone have a baby monitor they really like and would recommend? We need something that will last more then 2 months because we cannot afford to keep replacing them.
I don’t mind paying a bit more if it’s a good one. Fisher Price was what we had before but bugs got into it while it was packed up so it quit. The local Wal-Mart stopped carrying Fisher Price monitors

I have the Angelcare monitor and swear by it!!! It is expensive but I got it as a baby shower gift with my first son. I am using it right now and my 2nd son is 6 months old. This monitor is so clear and it also works with the movement of the baby. So if the baby stops breathing, the alarm will go off. There is a plate you put under the baby mattress that detects the baby moving and breathing. You can also set it to just sound. It’s been working for 3 years now and still going. I would invest a little more money into a good one so you don’t have t double buy.

I wanted Safety 1st digital one, but just went with the Graco Imonitor Vibe, single unit, because almost nothing else was in stock at the store when we needed it. It costs about $ 50 and doesn’t have great reviews online, but I’ve never had any problems with it. I live in a small condo, so I don’t know how it would work if you had a large house. The monitor has multiple volume options, never has any interference, barely has any background noise (just enough so that if I listen when it’s completely silent, I can tell it’s turned on and functioning), works all the way down the hall of my condo building, lets me hear my daughter’s every chirp and sleepy mumble quite clearly.

This is the one I have and love it and it’s not really expensive,I have had it for 3 yrs and had no problems with it.They have a newer model of it at walmart.I like the lights and sounds ones.

I have the one below. I know its a bit more than you were looking to spend, but you get what you pay for and as far as monitors go this one if fairly inexpensive. We’ve used ours since our daughter was born and she’ll be 16 month next week. We’ve only had problems with static a few times but all we had to do to fix it was change the channel. I really like this monitor because it picks up every little sound, which was really reassuring to me early on because I could even hear her breathing at night. I would recommend it to any of my friends.

we have the graco imonitor; got it at babies r us; have good clear reception, long range, good battery life, etc..i can hear everything; matter of fact after having the first one for 8 mos + we just bought a second one exactly like it to put in another room so we wouldn’t have to move it around…and i have dropped the receiver to the first one about a hundred times and it still works!! i don’t know why they don’t all get great reviews, bc both of these work great! i think i paid around sixty for each one , but like i said the first one is almost a year old and going strong….i could even hear my dog snore if he was asleep in the same room as my dd….:)

I currently have a Motorola Droid 2 with verizon and currently on my 3rd one (have been replaced through insurance). My frustration with this phone is beyond what most can understand. The Motorola Droid Razr is coming out in November and so is the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. I know neither phone is out yet but does anyone have suggestions or insights on each phone? I dont have time to keep looking at reviews and specs especially if sometimes i dont even understand some of the specs like a dual core 1.2 processor. Please dont suggest the iphone…if i didnt list it as an option i dont care about it. Both have 1 GB of RAM (also helps make the phone very fast). Both have good screens, although the Nexus’s is better. Here’s where we start to see some difference; the Nexus is significantly larger, both in size and weight, than the Razr, the Nexus has a slightly “smaller” battery, which should equate to a slightly shorter battery life (although not necessarily), and the Nexus comes with Ice Cream Sandwich installed (Android OS 4.0) which will have some pretty noticeable changes to it (although a SVP with Motorola indicated that the Razr should get 4.0 in early 2012). What does this all mean? If you are not concerned with having a huge phone (the Nexus), then in my opinion, it’s to close to tell without actually playing with both phones. The short of it is that they are both going to be better than anything that is out right now and unless there are some major bugs, I don’t think you will be disappointed with either. After saying all that, I’m leaning towards the Razr myself, but will wait until both phones are out before I make a final decision.

Therefore, divine tales and tribal history were passed on utilizing numerous forms of fine artistic creations. Examples of these fine arts were complex wood, jade, bone, and shell carvings.

Tibetan silver is a kind of silver alloy made by traditional Tibetan technology it looks darker than sterling silver but it has a special rugged style which sterling silver can never show.

These artifacts were then passed on by generation upon generation of tribal elders and became sanctified objects. These treasures "Taonga"tell the history of a tribe and are thought to adopt the spirits of past great leaders and warriors who had worn them. Upon today it is believed that a carving which is worn with respect or given and received with love, takes on part of the spirit of the wearer.

Let me state at the outset that this lens is not about Acai Berry Detox, the product; it is about the method employed in selling the product.

Presently, there is a serious consumer trap being set online.

For those of you who don't like reading a lot of detailed information, here it is in a nutshell:

You are offered a free trial.

You will be sent enough product for 30 days. All you need to pay for is shipping and handling.

Somewhere in the fine print, which you overlook or never see in the first place, you are told that you need to cancel within 15 days. If you do not cancel within 15 days, you are charged an outrageous price for your 'free' trial.

On top of that, you are automatically subscribed for monthly shipments and charges. These are spaced in such a way that by the time you find your first charges on your credit card, you will have been charged twice already.

Since we are talking two complementary products, that is 4 outrageous charges, over $ 500.00 in one month. If you then check with your credit card company, you will be told that this is perfectly legal and happens all the time.

You will be given a telephone number to cancel the subscription. Since the product comes from Great Britain, you must phone in the middle of the night.

If you have already fallen for this offer, please check your credit card statement very carefully. They use a different name each time they charge you.

A few weeks ago, sweating bullets trying to set up my online business, I came across an offer similar to the one you see in the above ad.

At the time I was doing keyword research in an attempt to select a niche market for myself. One of the items I had thought of researching more fully was supplements, seeing as I take some myself and am very interested in doing everything in my power to stay healthy - or as it says in my Ezine author resource box - die healthy.

I had heard about Acai and its benefits, and since this seemed to be a 'free' trial offer, and since I like being able to speak from personal experience, my guard was down. I ordered the 'free' trial, agreed to pay the $ 3.95 for shipping and handling and gave my Visa information, because they did not take paypal.

Within a reasonably short time a sample arrived from England.

When I discovered the shipping charges on my Visa statement, I noticed that they were not really $ 3.95/each but £ 3.95 - $ 6.61 Can/each. Still, who's going to make a fuss over the shipping price of a 'free' product, right?

How can we protect ourselves?

As you can tell by the order form, there is no reason to suspect that the product comes all the way from Great Britain. Shipping prices are given in Dollars.

It talks about a 30 day sample.

Yes, now that we know what we now know, it also says 15 day trial.

At this point I am so paranoid, I don't even dare enter into the ordering process far enough to investigate whether it does state anywhere just how expensive this entire package is.

Imagine! £79.00 plus shipping totals more than $ 130.00 per bottle.

There'd better be gold in those little pills!

How often do we overlook the small print, especially if it stretches on and on ....

They're going out of their way to make themselves look LOCAL and coming highly recommended.

Unless there truly is gold in those little capsules, I am hard pressed to understand why I can purchase pure Acai berry capsules locally for $ 15.00, compared to theirs for $ 130.00.

I did not find out about all the trouble I had put myself in until I received the first 're-order' in the mail. On the customs declaration the value was given as £ 79.00.

I phoned Visa to see if I had already been charged for the £79.00 item. Imagine my horror when I learned that not only had I been charged, I had actually been charged 4 times - once for each sample and once for the re-order!

The Visa resolutions person explained to me that I must have clicked on a box stating that I agree to all the terms and conditions. She explained further that they get calls about this all the time. She actually tried to make me feel better by reassuring me that I am not the only person to have fallen for this scam.

Apparently, somewhere in the terms and conditions it states that one must cancel the trial within 15 days. If one fails to do so, the order automatically converts to a monthly contract. Imagine £ 79.00 twice a month!

That night, in the middle of the night, I phoned Great Britain to cancel. The person I spoke with actually gave me a little hope that in addition to canceling the product shipments I might receive at least some of my money back.

A day later I received an email, asking for detailed information. I supplied it, still hoping we might meet half way.

The verdict? Nothing! Nada! Zilch!

Basically I should kiss their feet for even canceling the contract.

AND THIS IS ALL PERFECTLY LEGAL!

Can you afford to lose $ 500.00? Neither can I.

I have been fighting this charge. Emails have gone back and forth. It looks like I might be successful in receiving a refund.

However -

We are now running around in circles. Here is a copy/paste of this morning's email:

"In order to be able to issue you the full refund, we would like to ask you to forward us your bank statement with the charges you would like us to credit back to you. This document should indicate clearly that it corresponds to your bank account. "

Actually, this is an exact duplicate of one I received last week already, to which I replied that since they charged my credit card, they can credit my credit card.

I'm going to keep on fighting this, but, please, pass this on. In my research (after the fact, unfortunately) I discovered all kinds of people all over the world who have fallen into this trap.
Also, let me remind you once again, they use a great variety of different names to charge your credit card. If you are not extra vigilant in checking your statement, you may not even be aware of having been charged by them.

As you can see, I am not into promoting this product.
